Flavius’ objective is to allow you to obtain, in record time, a preliminary, usable translation of your website, based on the translation technology of Reverso, and to accompany you all along the process of improving your website. More than just a simple translation of the content of your website, Flavius duplicates its structure to make a true multilingual copy in just a few minutes. The tools developed on the platform allow users without any technological knowledge to be able to revise the translation of a website in context and to visualize the result immediately.

What are the limits of Flavius?

It’s thanks to machine translation that Flavius is in a position to give you an instant version of your website. Machine translation is a discipline that has made enormous progress these last few years thanks to technological developments; but it cannot, however, reach the level of human translation. In the absence of artificial intelligence elaborate enough to understand the nuances, subtleties of language, and proper nouns, and to retranscribe them in another language so that it’s not too literal, (for example,  “Since the day she moved to London, she has never looked back” is difficult to transcribe into French) machine translation may come across strangely in these cases.

Today Flavius is in the process of development, and a beta version is accessible to the public. A number of operations are in the process of being implemented, and the service will develop even further beyond its launch to the general public.
